In a major train mishap, at least 21 passengers were killed and over 80 others injured as 14 coaches of the Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express derailed in Khatauli, 40-km from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar. The Railways has announced a compensation of Rs. 3.5 lakh for the family of those killed, Rs. 50,000 for those seriously injured and Rs. 25,000 for people with minor injuries.
