The Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar was on July 27, 2017 sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the sixth time and the BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar had resigned as the Chief Minister on July 26, 2017, citing irreconcilable differences with RJD on corruption charges against Lalu Prasad’s son and former Deputy CM Tejaswi Prasad Yadav.
