England defeated India by nine runs in the final of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 to win the coveted title for the fourth time, following successes in 1973, 1993 and 2009. Put to bat first England made 228 runs in 50 overs. India chasing the target of 229 was bowled out for 219 in 48.4 overs. Player of the tournament was given to Tammy Beaumont of England for finishing the tournament as the leading run-scorer with 410, one more than Mithali Raj.
