HIMANSH – India’s Remote and High-Altitude research Station opened recently in Himalaya.
This a a remote area named Spiti which is located in Himachal Pardesh. National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR), Goa has established it under the Ministry of Earth Sciences. It is Indian government’s initiatives to quantify the Himalayan glacier responses towards the climate change.
Nasa’s ‘electric bandage’ to speed up wound healing
A new high-tech material called polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) which significantly promote healing of injured wounds. This material works on electricity and has numerous possible applications, including wound healing.
National Commission for Backward Classes to consider proposal for Maratha quota.
The National Commission for Backward Classes(NCBC) has said that it will consider giving reservation to Marathas if such a proposal comes to it. NCBC was established in August 1993, under the provisions of National Commission for Backward Classes Act, 1993.
